Liked it so much that I then paid to upgrade to the then current V9.5 so in fact I never paid full price ever for it, always only upgrade prices. In my case started with DxO about 10 years back with a then free copy of an older raw converter at V7. Probably went a bit overboard but fun to experiment. Many thanks, here's an example of a before and after shot with a bit of playing around with PL6 processing. Is it possible to still buy PL5 rather than the latest version? It doesn't seem to show up on their website as an option. Then I could look at upgrading when DXO does their Black Friday sales. So my question is, because I am mostly using basic adjustments, I think PL5 would be fine for now, just to save a bit of money as PL6 is quite expensive. but for now the basic stuff is brilliant to play around with. I am a complete amateur when it comes to PP so I'm sure there is a lot more of the functions I could use (and I still probably ruin a lot of photos. It also works well on my computer which makes all the difference. It only takes a few simple adjustments and the results are amazing. So I've tried PL6 and I find it very easy to use and more importantly, very easy to get great results. Also tried a couple of the free ones, (Darktable, RawTherapee) but again found them super slow, and a bit too complex for me. I tried OM Workspace but it is so slow on my computer (Macbook Pro 2016), it's unusable. I have always avoided post processing on a computer because I found it tedious, time consuming and I really had no idea what I was doing so ended up with results that were quite often worse than the original shot. I am currently using the 30 day trial of DXO PL6 and I must say, it's blown me away.
